If you want to know what something you have heard in the Paranormal world means then just ask.....i'm using a U.S data base at the mo and they seem to have most of the top info...... Most of the stuff we're going to come across and have to deal with we can now break down and work out.......

Electromagnetic Field (EMF) — A force given off by electric charges, found in anything that uses electricity. The higher the spikes in the electromagnetic field are, the more potential there is for paranormal activity.

Hi Face, Do you know why EMF causes Paranormal Activity? Crusader.

If you break down all matter to its smallest particles, you will find that any physical substance, organic or otherwise, can be reduced to electrical particles (electrons, protons, and neutrons). All electrical charges are surrounded by a magnetic field. Together, these electrical charges and magnetic fields create electromagnetic energy. Therefore, all of physical reality is surrounded and permeated by an electromagnetic field. Electromagnetic fields are commonly called EMFs.
In most houses, the highest EMF readings are caused by electrical equipment. EMF meters can easily detect these energy fields around electrical equipment. For example, televisions, light bulbs, computers, and everything with electrical wiring produces artificial EMFs. It’s easy to identify these fields, since they stay constant and are always around the wiring that causes them. However, in haunted places, the EMFs found can be very different.
At a haunted location, distinct, erratic, fluctuating EMFs are commonly found. It seems these energy fields have some definite connection to the presence of ghosts. The exact nature of that connection is still a mystery. However, the anomalous fields are easy to find. Whenever you locate one, a ghost might be present, although the environmental conditions will not allow the specter to appear to the naked human senses. When you find a strange, inconsistent EMF, that’s a great time to make a photo of the area. The developed print may show an apparition. Any other type of ghost detection, be it in the visual/audio, or other realms, is usually also most successful when these strange EMFs are present.
This meter serves as an excellent introduction to ghost detection equipment. Since it will easily allow you to pick up the fields from household appliances and other artificial sources, the first thing you want to do is rule them out. Then, any erratic EMF fluctuations you may detect, especially between 0 and 1 milliGauss (with the side button pressed continuously) may indicate ghostly activity. As you can see from the standard instructions, the meter detects 0-10 mG in normal mode and .10-1 mG with the side button pressed.
There is an invisible world all around us. Currently, there exists no device that can conclusively detect ghosts. However, the EMF meter may be one of the closest tools we have. Once you become comfortable using it, you’ll be amazed by the EMF anomalies that surround us every day!
Hope this may help......

Sorry to say it didnt come from an Advert, but form years of using EMF Meters (oh and the minor fact that i work as a safety manager for a high risk Site (which means it has to be static + EMF free)... As for any infromation i give out on this site...... I am a member of the uk ghost club and have been involved in paranormal investigations for over 5 yrs now. I know enough about the area to be able to give out information and know its right. All information i post here is copyright and will remain that way. Enjoy the rest of the site.... Hope to talk soon. Rich

Hi Jo and Face, I think you have the wrong end of the stick here, I am not into stealing other peoples information. I would advise that anything that has been copyright protected should not be displayed on a public forum, or should display the copyright mark to advise people that the information provided is protected. Just for your information the words Sci Fi are an abbreviation of Science Fiction, fiction and fact should be separated when doing research. Crusader.
